Every North Coast Adventures hunt includes:

• All necessary permits and hunting licenses
• Safety training and experienced bilingual guides
• High-performance air rifles (.25 cal for iguanas)

• Water, snacks, and coolers
• Round-trip transportation to/from the hunting grounds
• English & Spanish-speaking team

Optional Add-ons:

• Airport pickup: $80 from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) to the North Coast (Arecibo and surrounding towns). Contact us for a custom quote if arriving through Mercedita (PSE) or Rafael Hernández (BQN) Airports. We also offer round-trip service (pickup and return) for $140—a $20 savings when you book both together.
• Lodging: We partner with select Airbnb hosts located near our hunting zones. Ask us for recommendations.
• Iguana meat packaging: Prices vary based on quantity.
• Cook & Taste Experience: Homemade Puerto Rican-style BBQ using freshly hunted iguana meat in a local setting.

Here’s how your adventure unfolds:

All meetup location details will be shared once your reservation and experience type are confirmed. For added convenience, we offer complimentary pickup coordination for groups of up to 4 people if they are located within the North Coast region between Arecibo and surrounding towns. For locations outside this area, a small and competitive pickup and drop-off fee may apply. These details can be coordinated after booking or during your quote call.

• 7:30 AM – Meet Your Guide
  We’ll meet at the designated North Coast location. A brief intro and safety check are conducted.
• 8:00 AM – Gear Up
  We distribute equipment, confirm licenses, and review basic firearm handling and environmental guidelines.
• 8:30 AM – Into the Wild
  Transport to the hunting zone. Your guide will lead the way and identify ideal targets based on terrain and iguana activity.
• Morning Session
  Engage in active hunting. We provide hydration and snacks to keep your energy up.
• 12:00 PM – Lunch (Full-Day Option)
  We either break for a packed lunch or visit a local spot recommended by the guide.
• 1:00 PM – Afternoon Session (Full-Day Only)
  We continue exploring different zones, maximizing your chances for a successful hunt.
• 4:00 PM – Wrap-Up & Return
  We return to the meeting point. Your guide can assist with photos, meat packaging instructions, or sharing local food recommendations.

Additional Notes:

• Green iguanas in Puerto Rico can weigh anywhere between 5 to 35 pounds, offering an exciting and dynamic hunt.
• Rifle rental includes a generous supply of pellets, more than enough for the hunt. Extra pellets are available for purchase if you'd like to extend your shooting.
• Want to hunt past the scheduled time? We offer after-hours hunting extensions beyond 12 PM (Half-Day) or 4 PM (Full-Day) for an additional fee. Ask your guide for availability.

2. Select Your Date & Pay
Once you’ve chosen your package, select your preferred date and complete your reservation with payment. You will receive an instant confirmation email with your payment receipt and next steps.

3. Booking Policies & Refunds

• 100% Refundable if canceled up to 7 days before your scheduled date.
• 50% Refundable if canceled up to 24 hours before your scheduled date.
• If we’re unable to accommodate your selected date due to scheduling conflicts, we’ll contact you within 24–48 hours to reschedule or offer a full refund (regardless of the cancellation window).

4. Confirmation of Your Hunt
After booking, you will receive a second email within 24 to 48 hours confirming your hunting location, guide assignment, and final logistics. This will include exact meetup location and optional pickup details if needed.

Is this safe for beginners?
Absolutely. We provide full safety instructions, one-on-one guidance, and all necessary gear. Our experienced guides are trained to assist hunters of all levels, including first-timers.

What if I don’t see any iguanas during the hunt?
Our expert guides specialize in identifying the areas with the highest levels of iguana activity. We conduct scouting and research days before each hunt to select optimal zones, ensuring the best chances for a successful and enjoyable experience. That said, hunting wildlife can sometimes be unpredictable. While it's rare, there may be stretches where sightings are minimal. Rest assured—we go above and beyond to find the right spots so that your day is both rewarding and exciting.

What should I wear for the hunt?
We recommend wearing comfortable outdoor clothing—long pants, closed-toe shoes or hiking boots, a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

Do I need a hunting license?
No worries—we handle that for you. All necessary permits and licenses are included in your booking.

Can I bring my own hunting gear?
Yes! For iguanas, you may bring your own .177 to .25 caliber PCP air rifle. For caimans, .357 to .45 caliber rifles or bow and arrow are required. Let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.

What is the age requirement for hunting?
Participants must be at least 18 years old. Minors ages 16–17 may participate with parental or guardian supervision and approval. Contact us for more info.

Do you offer multi-day hunts?
Yes. Ask us about custom 3- and 5-day adventure packages. These are perfect for guests seeking deeper immersion in Puerto Rico’s wild terrain.

How does the booking process work?
You can book directly through our website by selecting your preferred experience, choosing a date, and making your payment. All payments are fully refundable up to 7 days before the scheduled date, and 50% refundable up to 24 hours before your reserved date. Once your booking is completed, you’ll receive a payment confirmation by email, along with details about the next steps in the confirmation process. Within 24 to 48 hours, you will receive a second email confirming your date and assigned hunting session. If your selected date has a conflict that prevents us from delivering the experience, we will reach out to coordinate an alternative date or issue a full refund—this scenario is not subject to the 7-day or 24-hour refund conditions.

Can I take the iguana meat home or have it cooked?
Absolutely. We offer meat packaging services (prices vary by quantity). For a true local experience, try our Cook & Taste Experience, where we prepare iguana BBQ Puerto Rican-style.

What if it rains during my hunt?
We’ll monitor conditions and adapt as needed. Light rain typically won’t affect the hunt. If weather becomes unsafe or persistent, we’ll pause or reschedule as necessary.
